My experience is mostly with Dry Creek wines. Carneros Truchard is the only zin I am familiar with. I constantly describe my zins as tart, harsh, young or a nicer description spicy. I drink my 97s often and depending on my moods I think they are great or sometimes just average. But on the average nights I pull up another competitors wine to check out whether it is just me. Now if you had it blind and wasn't the same wine, I want that wine back to make sure it isn't a bottling problem. I strive for consistency in my wines. I bottle all wines from one tank. If the wine was tart that wasn't water dilution, but it could be something else. Please send it back and I will replace it if you are not satisfied.
